Safety Window Film

Safety/Security window films up-grade sub standard glazing to
meet the requirements of the Workplace (Health, Safety and
Welfare) Regulation 1992 and Regulation 14 1996. Safety and
security films are also specified to provide solutions to many
other glass related safety problems including bomb blast
protection.
If glass is not toughened or
laminated it is extremely fragile and very
dangerous. Glass will break if fallen against and glass
shards resulting from breakage can cause injury and possibly
death. It is necessary not only to protect against injury
but against the possibility of legal action which might follow
an accident see our section Regs

Anti-Shatter Film 
¨C we have available to us an extensive range of safety films which are tested to comply with BSEN 12600 class 1b (formerly BS6206 Class ¡®A¡¯) and BSEN 12600 class 2b (formerly BS6206 Class ¡®B¡¯) and are designed to hold shattered glass in place. Safety/security window films are designed to hold shattered glass in place in the event of a breakage. Breakage can be caused by vandals, burglars, terrorists or even just storms.
Safety/security window film applied to glass will hold the glass in place even after impact with items such as baseball bat, brick or even help to reduce the effect of explosion.
There are various grades of safety/security window films which include combined solar grades which have the added benefits of solar control.
Bomb Blast Film 
¨C we have available to us an extensive range of bomb blast films which are tested to comply with BSEN 12600 class 1b (formerly BS6206 Class ¡®A¡¯) and BSEN 12600 class 2b (formerly BS6206 Class ¡®B¡¯) and are designed to reduce the terrifying effect and damage caused by flying glass in the event of explosion.
Numerous companies have seen the benefit of installing bomb blast film after seeing what devastation flying glass can cause from past atrocities. Many films fitted in the 1980's and early 1990's have reached the end of their useful life and, subject to current security requirements, should be replaced. Deficiencies include poor adhesion, loss of strength and embrittlement due to ultra violet degradation. Although some of these films may have some effective life left many of films are only 100 micron (.004") compared to the current minimum recommendation of at least 175 micron (.007") in thickness.
